- Teacher assigns the "Taking a Stand" open response portion of Word Generation unit and discusses other class assignments.

[clip length—0:35]

TEACHER: Please have your book, your book log and your journal out on your desk while you’re working on your Word Generation. I am gonna come around and check all three. You were to have two pages in your journal due today. You should have a book log in your book and be filling it out. And if you have all three of those, it’s a check-plus; if you have two out of three, it’s a check; one is, uh, a check-minus; none is, uh, a zero, all right? Uh, for the last fifteen minutes of class or so, we’ll read Whale Talk. And over the weekend, really, the only thing you should be workin’ on is your WWP, because we have a short week next week and I’m not gonna give you any journal pages.
